Myths of Belfast - 2hrs - leaves from PLACE
Created to accompany my doctoral research film Myths of Belfast, this tour examines the developmental milestones of the city of Belfast; the hubris of Elizabethan cartographers, the success of Victorian urbanism, unrealised Edwardian civic ambitions and the reasons behind the decision to force a motorway through once thriving inner-city neighbourhoods. The tour finishes with walk through the lost quarter of Sailortown, offering a glimpse at the impact these high-minded theories have had on the city.
Andrew is a tour guide for PLACE, for whom he regularly leads his ‘Myths of Belfast’ tour. He has also lead bespoke walking tours of Belfast, Derry/Londonderry and Craigavon for a diverse range of organisations.
